Life Changes... March-April 2012

Well, believe it or not, this blogger is still alive even though I haven't posted in over 2 months... (not as bad as Heather's track record though ;))
Our precious Rayna was born on Feb 21st and entered the world at 11:58 am. We're so thankful to God for a healthy baby (it's amazing that any baby is born healthy, isn't it?), and it is fun having one of each gender! Since she arrived, I just haven't had the motivation or as much time to post on the blog. Uploading multiple pics to FB is easier sometimes.
We are adjusting to life with 2 kids. I'm not sure how mothers with 3,4,5,6 + small kids get anything done, b/c it's hard enough with just 2! (I guess it depends a lot on whether the baby is content or not.) Seth has been wonderful through the transition... with some occasional "typical 2-yr old" behaviors, but for the most part has done very well. He loves his sister and hasn't acted very jealous like I thought he would. He often says "Rayna's cute!" I'm sure when she's big enough to mess up his car line-up or his towers, etc.. he might not like her as much =) Rayna, on the other hand, hasn't handled the transition as well =) She fights sleep like nothing else, but I have to say I'm so thankful that she's MUCH better at nursing than Seth was in the beginning, and it doesn't hurt this time, which is awesome.
She was 2 months on Saturday (April 21st), which is hard to believe! She's growing well (don't know how much she weighs until her appt on Wed.) and is pretty content when she's not tired, but when she gets tired, watch out, b/c a little whimper soon turns into an all out wail that lasts for a long time if no one comes to the rescue. =) and sometimes she still won't calm down even when being rocked or swung, etc..  Of course there are some days that are better than others thankfully, and lately she has really liked her swing, which is a blessing.  She has started to smile and coo a lot more consistently at around 8 weeks and I love it!

Here are a bunch of pics from the past month or so... (ok, a LOT of pics!)

Seth was so tired one morning, and wanted to take a nap on mommy's bed. He was out within a few minutes and slept a while on the boppy pillow.

liking her baths now, but hates when I take her out!

snuggling w/ daddy

peeking out of his playhouse

neighborhood watchman

Out in PA for Easter. Rayna's first time meeting Nanny. love this pic!

"Ring around the rosy" with Ruby and Libbey

"they all fall down!"

Jenna's darling little guy, Pierce. He is so adorable and content!

no offense, but not the best pic of them... my dad was cracking up laughing, hence the watery eyes. But, its the only pic I got of them w/ Rayna.

Grammie took on the special job of comforting Rayna every night we were there! She probably heard more crying than she was prepared for that week! =)

I LOVE this one =) wish there was a nicer background for a frame.

Seth loved the tramp!

Easter Sunday

going up to Nanny's for an egg hunt. I missed it b/c I was feeding Rayna, but Kyle took these pics. Thanks to Shauna for providing all the candy-filled eggs!

Jenna's b-day was on Easter Sunday and the kids helped her blow out the candles. =)

Grampa took Seth for a ride in the company truck!

"my dream come true!"

"Other side Grampa, I'm driving!"

Landon and Seth

asleep on the way home in our new van! We didn't expect to buy a van this soon (before the 3rd one is even thought of yet =)) but it sure is nice for the kids!

showing Rayna the soccer ball on his shirt =) "wow, that's really cool, bro!"

love when babies sleep like this =)

trying to catch some smiles on camera

She was happy for quite a while and then came the pout face...

I was out running errands one night and it was almost 10:00 when I got home... daddy's a softy when it comes to letting Seth stay up late to cuddle. They were watching "Berenstein Bears." I remember loving those books as a kid. =)

Elli's 6th birthday party (She actually turns 6 on April 25th)-- Jonny and Evan's b-day

It was a rainbow theme, hence Elli's colorful dress! It looked so cute on her.

 She's a great hula hooper!

sleepy after church

and another smile from my sweetie

sorry such a long post... hopefully next time won't be 2 months from now! Love and God's blessings to you all! XOXO

  3. O wow I can't remember all the comments I wanted to say, but I'm SO happy you blogged & I totally understand the not having motivation to do a new post thing or simply not having the tinme! Crazy how just 1 more child creates so much more work for mom;-) I'm happy to hear that Rayna nurses great and that she's gaining great and that it hasn't been uncomfortable this time around for you! I can't get over how adorable she is and I'm totally loving the cute girl stuff (headbands, clothes)...dolly!!! Her Easter outfit was precccccioussss. How fun that they did an egg hunt at nannys. so cool that Seth got to ride in the truck with dad, I can imagine how much in his glories he must have been. Eden's crying now to be fed, gotta go- miss you sooo much:-/ take care!!

  4. Awwww, precious kiddos you have! So many cute pics of Rayna (esp the one of her smiling). I absolutely love it when they can interact just a little bit w/ smiles and cooing etc.!! Seth and his truck ride must've been the highlight of his time in PA- I can imagine he talked about that for many days to follow. I'm sure he'll be a good big brother to Rayna and I'm sure she will be a lil tomboy with him around ; ) Looking forward to seeing you in a month!!! Love ya
