When the baby gets here, Seth will be saying good bye to the rocking chair and changing table. (I think the rocking chair could pose a jealousy problem... that's his "comfort" when he's sick, tired, or just wants to cuddle up and read a book.) Sometimes if he isn't feeling well and wakes up crying in the night, the first thing he says when I come in the room is "rocking chair." He quiets down right away if I sit in there and rock him. sniff.. I'm going to miss that =) The good thing is, we just ordered a rocking chair for the family room, so at least there will be another "rocker" in the house if needed in the middle of the night ;)
I can't wait till we actually have a bookshelf and night stand in his room (and some wall decor for the big empty walls), but I do love the new colors!
The green blanket is so his head doesn't get stuck underneath the rail again. He started crying really loud all of a sudden one night, and sure enough, he was stuck! We usually have another really big blanket stuffed in there as well, but I took it out for the picture b/c it's blue and neon yellow... haha
Now for the baby's room, I'd like to do a gray color on the bottom, white chair rail in the middle, and a light purple on top (if it's a girl), but if it's a boy, I don't know what color to paint on top, since I don't want to do blue again. It'd be nice if we could have the bottom half painted and the chair rail put up before he/she is born, and then just paint the top when we know the gender... =) It would also be nice to start buying some newborn clothes on sale.... but I know the surprise will be worth it! ;)

It looks great!! Awesome job on the chair rail and the painting:-) Isn't it so fun to redo decor? His room matches so nicely with his quilt on the wall!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of light purple for a girl, and I'm thinking if it's a boy...do a peacock green/blue color;-) (like a darker teal hue) Megan your getting pretty close to your due date. The gender surprise is killin me lately haha;-)
looks awesome!!!Love how the quilt goes with walls. Yes Stef, agree with the green/blue color and that would look awesome with gray. Were you thinking light or dark gray...I would do the opposite of what you do for the top color...if the top is light do the bottom darker, and vice versa. Ah I cannot wait to know what you are having too! Meg, I believe today would have been the day you had Seth...I'm 36 and 6...correct?
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I like the colors- definitely looks boyish! My prediction still remains a girl but we'll see- and its crazy that Jenna's now outpassed how long you carried sethie. Lookin forward to seeing you next week!
ReplyDeletewell, that quilt fits right in with the new colors, good job!! If the baby's room doesn't get much sunshine, then I suggest keeping the colors lighter. Picks up the mood too! love, Grammie H
ReplyDeleteLove all the work you've done (Kyle) haha. Looks great. I think the quilt looks so nice with the wall colors too. It was wonderful to see you all over Christmas! Glad you were able to meet little Pierce!! Can't wait to hear what you've been carrying :). Boy or girl she will be so loved!! Love, Helen
